Use a separation layer where your plate manufacturer recommends it; PETG can bond aggressively to some smooth surfaces.

Moisture is the biggest enemy. Store it sealed with desiccant and dry it as needed.
Dry filament first when you notice popping, bubbling, rough surfaces, excessive stringing, or inconsistent extrusion. PETG, TPU, nylon, PVA/BVOH, and PC benefit most from dry storage. Use the card’s drying start as a conservative baseline, not a replacement for the label on the spool.
Check your dryer and spool limits before drying—too much heat can soften the filament, deform a plastic spool, or cause the windings to stick together. Store moisture-sensitive materials sealed with fresh desiccant after drying.
